Roisin Ellis joined Sport Canterbury's Physical Activity team in October 2016.
Roisin’s role as Physical Health Advisor takes responsibility for the Fendalton-Waimairi ward.
Her key responsibilities are: supporting individuals to engage in lifelong physical activity for wellness; delivering eight-week 'Be Active' programmes; and providing physical activity leadership and relevant resources for Canterbury communities.
Roisin was previously employed as a Participation Coordinator with Hohepa Canterbury.
Originally from Ireland, Roisin moved to Christchurch in August 2015, after working in Alaska as an Exercise and Wellness Coach and Outdoor Education Leader.
She holds a Bachelor of Business in Recreation and Sports Management and has also served as a Programme Assistant with Paralympics Ireland, based in Dublin.
Away from work, Roisin enjoys any form of exercise including running, cycling, sea kayaking, skiing, Gaelic Football, Ultimate Frisbee, yoga and hiking.
