Bree Cumming

Programme and Events Coordinator Bree Cumming originally joined the Sport Canterbury team as West Coast Programme and Events Coordinator in August 2012.

From February 2016, Bree has been based in Sport Canterbury's Christchurch office, in Hornby, with a focus on coordinating Active Kids Programmes.

Sport Canterbury’s popular Active Kids Programmes give families a structured, safe and affordable option, with opportunities to “have a go” and try new activities in a fun, supportive environment. Programmes are specifically designed to cater for ages five to 13.

Bree continues to be involved with Sport Canterbury's West Coast Regional Office in a Regional Support role.

This role was created to ensure the future of Sport Canterbury's popular West Coast community events, including the annual New World Coast Kids Triathlon Series.

Bree has expererience working closely with West Coast Cricket and Canterbury Cricket to deliver weekly Have a Go sessions in Greymouth and Hokitika, as well as conducting taster sessions and KiwiSport cricket in schools.

Bree holds a Diploma in Sport and Fitness with a background in personal training and sports massage. She was involved with a number of gyms and fitness centres, working abroad for a year before returning to the Coast as a KiwiSport Coordinator. In her KiwiSport role, Bree had responsibility for the Midland Line Cluster.

Bree plays many sports socially and competes at boxing, netball, basketball, tennis, cycling and triathlon/duathlon, with experience at representative level. She teaches Body Combat classes, and enjoys every chance to lead an active and healthy lifestyle.

In 2017, Bree claimed the South Island and Australian Golden Gloves titles, representing the Canterbury Boxing Association.
