Linda Kenny was appointed Community Sport Advisor for Sport Canterbury's South Canterbury Regional Office in October 2012.
Sport Canterbury's Community Sport team promotes lifelong participation in sport and recreation as well as community partnerships. The team provides support, leadership and advocacy to schools and sports clubs within its targeted communities.
Linda also supports South Canterbury regional sports to increase their capability, membership, coaches and player/official pathways.
She is a trained teacher with 30 years of experience in primary, area and secondary education. She also has experience with the South Canterbury District Health Board (SCDHB) as a health promoter for the Wellbeing and Vitality in Education project (WAVE).
Linda enjoys all sports, and has volunteered for many. She is currently coaching squash at club and district level while serving as director on the Squash New Zealand board.
Linda is passionate about sport and the health benefits it brings to both participants and their wider communities.
