Nina Perez is a member of Sport Canterbury’s Healthy Families Christchurch team.
With over 15 years’ experience in community development and engagement, Nina has worked as a consultant with international agencies including NZAID, Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Nina holds a Masters in Applied Science, International Rural Development, from Lincoln University. She also earned her Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology at ITESM University.
Born in Monterrey, Mexico, Nina now resides in the township of Lincoln with her husband, who is originally from Iran, and their two children. Their family celebrates diversity and whakakotahitanga. Nina considers the opportunities to work with New Zealanders of diverse cultural backgrounds and ages a true privilege.
About Healthy Families NZ
Following an appointment by the Ministry of Health in 2016, Sport Canterbury is the lead provider for Healthy Families Christchurch.
Healthy Families NZ currently focuses on 10 New Zealand communities, and is positively impacting the lives of over a million New Zealanders at present.
The Healthy Families Christchurch team is: Jill Borland (Manager), Naomi Tuipulotu (Community Activator), Losana Korovulavula and Nina Perez (Settings Coordinators), and George Berry (Communications and Engagement Advisor).
As with all Healthy Families NZ locations, the workforce of five full-time staff in Christchurch (Spreydon-Heathcote) will work with local leaders to create sustainable healthy change and to make healthy choices more accessible.
