Healthy Families Host Forum

Wednesday, 19 April, 2017

A celebration of future thinkers was held in Christchurch last night at the first Pacifica Youth Forum hosted by Healthy Families Christchurch.

Youth leaders from several of the region's Pacifica Churches, along with representatives of the Wayne Francis Trust, Cross Over Trust, Sport Canterbury and Ministry for Pacific Peoples, came together to discuss their communities’ health priorities and to look at opportunities for future collaboration.

Topics such as the barriers they face to health and wellbeing as well as today's perception of Pacifica were discussed.

The attendees agreed that the forum was a great place to share stories, resources and ideas, and proposed inviting other youth leaders to future meetings.

The night was also attended by Labour MP for Christchurch East Poto Williams.
