Summer 2020 at Ngā Puna Wai

It’s set to be a season full of exciting events at our city’s southwestern home of sport - Ngā Puna Wai.

Whether you’re wanting to watch, participate or take the family out for a day of fun there is something to suit everyone. Mark the dates in your calendar, it’s a summer to remember!

From the Primary School Athletics in December, the Christchurch Car Show in January to the New Zealand Ultimate Championships in March, there’s a wide variety of exciting events – not to mention walking tracks, café (open for events) and a new Ngā Puna Wai playground.

Ngā Puna Wai is home to Athletics Canterbury, Canterbury Rugby League, Canterbury Hockey and Tennis Canterbury, comprising 32 hectares of recreation and esplanade reserve and other park land beside Canterbury Agricultural Park, near Wigram. Following strong support from the wider Christchurch recreational and sporting community, what was once 32ha of grassy reserve land has been transformed into a $53m multi-sports facility.
